A Bond Sealed With Color
You sat across from me at the bar,
Beautiful in your sweater of green.
I remember it in great detail,
As clear as last night's dream.
Since that very first night,
Unable to get you out of my head.
I can't explain the bond formed,
Over a few drinks colored red.
If I were to have any regrets at all,
Anything that makes me feel blue.
It would be that I allowed myself,
To take my focus off of you.
To know that I wasn't around,
While others were causing you pain.
Has burnt me through to my core,
Like that of a white hot flame.
It doesn't matter the time of year,
Sunny skies or clouded with grey.
I want to be a part of your life,
More and more each and every day.
Like the orange sun above you,
I will never be far from your side.
When you need me I'll be there,
As fast as that airplane can fly.
