Now What
I’m falling in love with you.
I’m not sure why.
I’m not sure why it is that when you’re not near days turn into nights.
Not the nights with the big moon and bright stars that you try to count, pointing out constellations.
The dark, winter nights when clouds cover the stars and the light of the moon like some awfully, wrongly, placed blanket.
I’m falling in love with you.
I’m not sure how.
I’m not sure how it is that when I am near you my soul feels safe.
Not the feeling of being safe from harm or hurt or pain.
The safety that the world is now a great place to live in, the safety that my heart will no longer be stranded, alone, roaming dark alleys and leaving pieces of itself here and there.
I am in love with you.
I’m not sure why.
I’m not sure how.
I will never be sure for either one but I am sure of one thing:
I want you to be near, all your days, so I don’t have to live in infinite winter nights.
I want to be near you, all my days, so I don’t have to live in uncertainty and fear.
But now? Now that I love you. Now what?
