Pain Revisited And only now am I realizing the reason I submerge myself
into painting
music
books
so deep that I may not breathe
may not think
so that I may be numb
Numb from the pain
the misery
the heartache
the suffering
but even numb from the happiness
because although pain is fleeting, so is happiness
and the further I drift from joy
the closer I am to the start
of pain revisited
