Lonely Life
He sits, alone, thinking about this brief moment in eternity called life. He wonders if it is real, or if it is an illusion created just for him by some unknowable and cruel deity? The people around him talk and smile and laugh. He can see the companionship, the amazing quality of life that everyone appears to be enjoying. He yearns for that kind of existence, but every time he reaches out the people fade away. They go from being happy, accepting, contented folk into something distant and untouchable, an illusion. So he sits, alone, hoping that someday the cruel deity directing his life will be kind and make his this untouchable illusion something solid and real.
