Oh won’t you please write me a letter,
And tell me what hides in your heart?
I’ll keep it forever and ever,
And treasure it more than great art.
I’ll caress each word with my eyes dear.
And pretend that I’m touching your hand.
I’ll kiss where your lips sealed the letter,
And day dream about being your man.
I’ll hide it so it won’t get stolen,
And read it at least once a day.
The only thing that could be better,
Is to have you come to me to stay!
So won’t you please send me that letter?
I’ll wait by the box every day.
My heart then will sing above measure,
At each precious word you will say!
