Loneliness
Loneliness
Loneliness...
...there was always a reason,
an impregnable logic;
...there were moments of respite,
but, always, there were those concealed harnesses,
that bound me unyieldingly,
to,
Loneliness...
...today, again, there is a reason,
an impregnable logic;
...there are moments of respite;
an hour here,
an hour there,
sometimes strung together...
but, they leave me with phantom dreams,
and a hungering, aching emptiness:
...still,
there are those d---able, concealed harnesses,
binding me unyieldingly,
to,
Loneliness...
...tomorrow,
I fear tomorrow...
...will tomorrow be but a momentary respite,
a tender, gentle, caressing thrill,
taking my heart to the very heights of
Hope and Love,
only to be yanked again by that d---able harness,
that has forever bound this child,
to,
Loneliness?
