An Ode to The Void
For all the songs that we did not sing,
And for all the hope that tomorrow could not bring,
The setting suns that put red into my eyes,
For the ego that you never could compromise.
For the birds not perched upon winter's leafless trees,
And all of the sorrow yet to dissipate within me,
A stifled creativity longing for release,
And a fading sense of belief in the notion of peace.
For falling short of society's expectations,
And the lack of having interesting conversations.
For all the fear and fight that has become our-selves,
And all the dust collecting upon bookless shelves.
So far in between the lines of reason,
I am lost to ambivalence in this strangest of seasons.
