Dream Lover
She walked along the city streets
Searching each man’s eyes
Hoping her dream lover
She would somehow spy
Each night he came to her
In dreams with soft caresses
His eyes the bluest of blues
His hair black curly tresses
He resembled a hero
From a romance novel cover
And he was caring
More than any other lover
Rich and with finesse
He really was a catch
Wonderful beyond compare
No other man could match
Walking down the street one day
She saw a homeless man
She would not look him in the eye
And ran past as fast as she can
He laughed and said I’m sorry
You really just don’t know
I have been waiting
But now I have to go
He removed his cap
And shook out his gorgeous hair
There was a sparkle in his blue eyes
Too bad she did not care
He walked slowly to his limo
That was waiting by
I would have loved her dearly
But to see me she did not even try
She judged me by my appearance
And this has come at a high cost
Because she never looked my way
Her dream lover she has lost
