Sweet Words of Nothing So long I have been waiting,
For this moment in my life.
So much time I have wasted,
With the boys that don't matter.

When we met you had a girl,
Loved her for years in you heart.
I knew I couldn't compete,
So I stayed in the background to wait.

You felt the connection between us,
What I hoped for every day.
Yet, there was the girl in your heart,
The other half of your life.

You made me meet her once,
I was in awe of her from the start.
How could you not see,
She was exactly the same as me?

She broke your heart one day,
You turned to me for some help.
I couldn't let you know my thoughts,
When you were so focused on her.

Then one day things just changed,
You started smiling at me more.
You eventually expressed it in a whisper,
That you loved me from the start.

Now lying in your room in the dark,
You make me laugh with your smile.
You tell me sweet words of nothing,
That always go straight to my heart.

I have finally found what I was looking for,
Forgetting the heart-ache and pain of the past.
I look towards you for my future,
For the reason for my life.
