Within this heart
Within this heart
That’s made of stone
Within these lips
Was me alone
I hold my head
And present it high
But you could see through me
Amongst my transparent sigh
My eyes illuminated red
And my sorrows clearly shown
I felt so black and dead
In a place where no love was grown
I trembled with pain
And resided in fear
My only comfort was this broken heart
And my friend was this fallen tear
Life came and went
But it stayed not for me
My eyes stayed blinded
It was only you I could see
You hurt me so
With a pain I shall never forget
Yet somehow it’s leaving
But the memory stays yet
My friends have shown me comfort
And they pressed me in love
But the only print that was made
Was from death’s leather glove
I squirm within heartache
And wiggle through pain
And within these blackened tears
Was nothing to gain
My words last forever
For you they remain dead
I think of you constantly
With a head full of lead
But after all this pain
And all these wordy rhymes
Is a feeling that won’t alter
And remains for better times
I found something new
But I shall speak of it not
For good things remain secret
So that they are never forgot
My heart is now patched
And these tears now run thin
Because it is joy I have found
And I will let this new love in
