outside out in the darkness it lurks
forever there
but never far
waiting for the time
that it can come
and steal you away to its
deep dark lair

It hides in the corners
forever watchful
pitch black
with bloody red eyes
and teeth that could tear you open
at the blink of an eye

You know it's there
forever slinking about
why doesn't it come
why doesn't it move
you're forever watchful
forever careful
so that it can't get you

it's sneaky you know
this monster outside
but you know its weakness
victory is on your side
wary always
never dropping your guard
It can't hurt
unless you let it!
