Call of the Storm
You call my phone, and I read your name
My day brightens on this stormy day
I answer hello in a happy tone
But your response is weak and monotone
Whats wrong I say?
Did you have a bad day?
Then your silence is broken with sniffles of sorrow
The anguish your feeling cascades my way
I can visualize tears falling down your face
Whats wrong I repeat
Confide in me.
I just want to assure you all will be ok
I throw compliments at you anyway I can
Dont let this storm rain on your parade
I just pray for a smile to reach you today
Followed by a laugh to ease the pain
Dont worry I say this storm will end
The clouds will depart and only the stars will remain
Let me take your rain so your eyes can dry
You dont deserve to cry or feel awful inside
You are kind and gentle and full of pride
Please let me burden this storm
So you may sleep soundly tonight.
