HAPPY BIRTHDAY It seems like just yesterday
I held you in my arms
I welcomed you into this world
Seventeen years ago today

That moment in time
Is etched in my mind
Always and forever

Hard headed and stubborn
You get that from me
Good times and bad
All that we had
My little lady,
You’ve grown up so fast

Your first step
First word
I do recall
Looking back fondly
I see it all

Use to be I was all you needed
Today it’s the phone
The boy
And I am impeded.
Tomorrow is school
Life
My dreams exceeded

I hope life treats you kind
I pray that you find
All your dreams all the time
