Please When I look at you
I can only hope and pray
That together in the future
We will be happy some day

Its not up to us
But its to a higher power
We are trying to turn things around
Even after they have gone sour

We sit and we talk
We try to work things out
We accuse and we fight
And now things have gone south

We are trying to pull us back together
We say we want each other forever
We try our best not to fight
Please let things be better after tonight

We cant keep doing what we have done
We need to make things better before the morning sun
We need to make things the way they were
But the past is starting to become a blur

"Lets just be happy"
"Lets just work things out"
We've tried that before
And things still get thrown about

You don't trust me
And I don't believe you
How could you not know
After all that I have done for you

I drive over twenty miles out of my way
Just so I can see you
If even for just ten minutes each day

I wish you could stay with me
But then we would just fight
Please God,
Let us make things right
