Moonlit Love Affair
She climbs her second story window and down the thick tree trunk
She sprints through the woods, dodging protruding roots
The moonlight glows silver on the rippling lake
She strips off her clothes, down to her bathing suit
She cautiously descends into the chilly water
She dunks her head under and opens her hazel eyes
His dazzling scales glisten in the moonlight
The familiar face comes closer
Their lips embrace
She feels the pressure in her ears
She needs a fresh breath
She surfaces and gasps
He tugs playfully on her legs
She ducks under again
He teases her with his agility
Their parting must come
A kiss goodbye
He is gone…
